Intentional Time with Jesus
The Christian life is primarily about relationship with Christ. Prayer, repentance, & reading the Bible deepens our relationship with Him. We can't sacrifice the intimacy gained through intentional time with Jesus.
Finding meaningful relationships is where discipleship happens in the everyday stuff of life. LifeGroup is more than a weeknight gathering; it’s a group of people you share your hopes, dreams, fears, and sins with. This is the environment where true growth happens.
As followers of Jesus we must continue to grow and mature in Him. One way we grow is through learning to become more like Him in every way. From classes to resources, we are committed to learning more about Jesus to become more like Jesus.
Jesus was the greatest servant who ever lived. We now serve because he first served us. We are to serve the world around us to the glory of God with the knowledge that true joy comes in loving others.
Jesus calls us to make disciples who make disciples. It’s as simple as bringing people along with you as you follow Him.
Our Vision: Love God. Love Your Neighbor.
Above all else, VGF is about Jesus. We believe that everyone worships something. We worship what we treasure, what we value most. As believers, we worship Christ because He is the only One worthy of our devotion and affection.
Worshipping Jesus is central to who we are as Christians. If God is calling you to be part of our church family, He’s calling you first and foremost to be a worshipper of Jesus. In Him we find joy, hope and true satisfaction.
Life is not designed to be lived alone. In a world where isolation is the norm and it's easy to get lost in the crowd, we need community and relationships more than ever. True growth and change come from deep relationships centered around the Good News of Jesus Christ. God created us to live in community, and we most effectively live out our mission as the family of God, together.
Making Disciples is our primary goal as a church. To make disciples means “to make learners.” Being a disciple means that we are constantly learning about and becoming more like Jesus. Disciples make other disciples so that Christ may be glorified and His kingdom spread on earth.
We see what it means to make disciples from The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20 and in Acts 1:8. Christ calls us to be missionaries to our neighbors, friends, co-workers, city, and world, to make much of Christ and bring Him glory.
Relationship with God is the centerpiece of the Christian life. Just like any relationship, we have to cultivate our relationship with God through intentional time and conversation. We do not see prayer as merely a way to get things from God but as a way to get more of God himself.
Prayer gives us an opportunity to develop intimacy with God, become more like Him, and plead with Him for the needs of others. The Christian life cannot be lived without reliance upon the Holy Spirit. This happens through prayer.
